NONTONNEWS.COM - Baru-baru ini, beredar kabar bahwa Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Kemendikbud Ristek) menghapus jurusan IPA, IPS, dan Bahasa di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Hal ini tentu menimbulkan banyak pertanyaan dan kekhawatiran di kalangan orang tua, siswa, dan pendidik.
Penjelasan Resmi Kemendikbud Ristek
Kemendikbud Ristek melalui Kepala Badan Standar Nasional Kurikulum dan Asesmen Pendidikan (BSKAP), Anindito Aditomo, membenarkan bahwa sistem penjurusan IPA, IPS, dan Bahasa di SMA memang dihapus. Namun, perlu dipahami bahwa penghapusan ini merupakan bagian dari implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka yang sudah diterapkan secara bertahap sejak tahun 2021.
Alasan Penghapusan Jurusan
Penghapusan jurusan ini dilakukan dengan beberapa pertimbangan, yaitu:
Memberikan kebebasan belajar kepada siswa: Kurikulum Merdeka bertujuan untuk memberikan kebebasan kepada siswa untuk memilih mata pelajaran sesuai dengan minat, bakat, dan aspirasinya. Dengan sistem penjurusan, dikhawatirkan siswa terjebak dalam pilihan jurusan yang tidak sesuai dengan kemampuan dan cita-citanya.
Mencegah stereotip: Sistem penjurusan sering kali memicu stereotip bahwa jurusan IPA lebih unggul dan membuka peluang kerja yang lebih luas dibandingkan jurusan IPS dan Bahasa. Hal ini dikhawatirkan dapat memicu kesenjangan dan ketidakadilan dalam pendidikan.
Mempersiapkan siswa untuk masa depan: Dunia saat ini berkembang pesat dan membutuhkan individu dengan kemampuan yang beragam dan fleksibel. Sistem penjurusan dikhawatirkan akan membatasi kemampuan siswa untuk beradaptasi dengan perubahan zaman.
Skema Pembelajaran Baru
Dengan dihapusnya jurusan, siswa SMA kini memiliki keleluasaan untuk memilih mata pelajaran dari berbagai bidang ilmu. Sebagai gantinya, Kemendikbud Ristek menerapkan skema pembagian mata pelajaran sebagai berikut:
Mata Pelajaran Wajib: Meliputi mata pelajaran dasar seperti Bahasa Indonesia, Matematika, Sains, Bahasa Inggris, dan Pancasila.
Mata Pelajaran Pilihan: Meliputi mata pelajaran yang lebih spesifik sesuai dengan minat dan bakat siswa. Siswa dapat memilih mata pelajaran dari berbagai bidang ilmu, seperti IPA, IPS, Bahasa, dan Vokasi.
Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila: Kegiatan pembelajaran yang berfokus pada pengembangan karakter dan nilai-nilai Pancasila.
Penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka
Kurikulum Merdeka dengan sistem peminatan mata pelajaran ini sudah diterapkan secara bertahap di sekolah-sekolah di Indonesia. Pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025, Kurikulum Merdeka sudah diterapkan di 90-95% sekolah, baik di tingkat SD, SMP, maupun SMA.
Tantangan dan Harapan
Penghapusan jurusan dan penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka tentu membawa tantangan baru bagi sekolah, guru, dan orang tua. Diperlukan persiapan yang matang dan adaptasi terhadap sistem pembelajaran yang baru ini.
Namun, dengan implementasi yang tepat, diharapkan Kurikulum Merdeka dapat memberikan manfaat bagi siswa, yaitu:
