Dalam balapan yang berlangsung di Sirkuit Misano pada Minggu (22/9/2024), Bastianini berhasil menyalip Jorge Martin dari Pramac Ducati di lap terakhir. Bastianini menyelesaikan 27 putaran dengan catatan waktu 41 menit 14,653 detik, mengamankan posisi pertama.
Sepanjang balapan, duel antara Bastianini dan Martin menjadi sorotan utama. Martin, yang memimpin di sebagian besar jalannya race, akhirnya harus puas di posisi kedua setelah Bastianini melakukan manuver brilian di tikungan terakhir. Meski begitu, hasil ini memperkuat posisi Martin di klasemen sementara MotoGP 2024, dengan total 341 poin.
Podium ketiga diraih oleh Marc Marquez dari Gresini Ducati. Marquez menyebut podium ini sebagai “hadiah” setelah persaingan ketat di lintasan. Francesco Bagnaia, yang sempat berada di posisi ketiga hingga tujuh lap terakhir, mengalami crash yang membuatnya gagal menyelesaikan balapan.
