Blindsight mendapat pengakuan resmi dari FDA, yaitu status Breakthrough Device atau "perangkat terobosan". Status ini diberikan kepada teknologi medis yang dianggap inovatif dan mampu membawa dampak signifikan pada kehidupan pasien. Meski potensi perangkat ini luar biasa, Musk menekankan bahwa pada tahap awal, penglihatan yang dihasilkan oleh Blindsight akan memiliki resolusi yang rendah, mirip dengan grafik pada konsol Atari. Prospek dan Tantangan
